Herron Recreation and Fitness Center

As a ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø California student, you have access to the Herron Recreation and Fitness Center as part of your campus experience. Stay active with modern cardio and strength equipment, including treadmills, elliptical machines, rowers, and stationary bikes and other equipment in our fitness center. TThe facility also features an indoor jogging track, swimming pool, basketball and racquetball courts, and the Vulcans Peak climbing wall. Locker rooms are equipped with lockers, private shower stalls, and electric saunas for your convenience.

The Herron Recreation and Fitness Center is supported by student fees and available to students with a ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø ID who have paid the Herron Recreation and Fitness Center fee (note: separate fee from Activity and Student Center fees). Access is also available for a fee to ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø Global Online students, university employees, and alumni.

At the Herron Recreation and Fitness Center, our trained instructors are here to help motivate you and support your personal fitness goals. Group fitness classes are open to all recreation center members, offering a fun and energizing way to stay active. Put on comfortable clothes, bring a water bottle, and join us for a class.

Only ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø California students, faculty, and staff are eligible to participate in intramurals and other recreation programs. Students from other institutions may not participate!

  • Pay particular attention to the registration deadline and the roster limits for each activity.
  • Complete a team registration form on .
  • Register using your university email account to automatically be accepted.
  • Captains must submit a phone number; you will be contacted prior to your first scheduled game.
  • You may play on ONLY one (1) team in each division. Once you play for one team, you MAY NOT switch teams.

Review the Intramurals Handbook for complete information about intramural play, officials, injuries, health and safety, forfeits, conduct, and more. Attend the captain's meeting, if applicable. Your captain will be contacted by the intramural staff.

 

ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø California's competitive sports clubs are started and maintained by students. The clubs compete against off-campus rivals in a wide variety of sports. The presidents of all ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø California sports clubs meet monthly to work together on community service and fundraising projects through the Presidential Sports Club Council.

Campus Recreation offers various outdoor recreational opportunities throughout each semester.  Activities may include kayaking, sky diving, caving, camping, and more!  Follow campus recreation on social media or stop into the Herron Recreation and Fitness Center for more information and the current schedule.

The 94-acre SAI Farm, on ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø California's upper campus, is the place to go for green space. The Student Association Inc. (SAI) owns the former farmland, which includes a disc golf course (under repair), and nature trails for hiking or simply enjoying time outdoors. SAI also has installed a covered pavilion and picnic tables; two large charcoal grills and a variety of picnic games are available to rent.

Esports Zone Details

  • Located in first floor of Natali Student Center
  • Open for fee-paying students during the hours of 8:00 a.m.  – 10:00 p.m. (When competition team is not in league play/practice)
  • Eight (8) Alienware computers, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox
  • Play for leisure, small-sided teams, or competitively (Vulcan Esports)
